  • The movie Star Wars was released may 19th 1977. That day in Oyotunji I was probably around 9 years old. It was basically the same as most days were Until about right before sunset Baba Awolawo Iba Ara Torun, in his station wagon rolling down the back road behind his compound Ali and Efungbemi his two sons yell at me. Gbohun Baba is taking us to the drive in movies to see Star Wars do you wanna come? With all my might i ran to the Afin to ask either my Baba or Yeye whichever I saw first permission to go. I remember Running behind the station wagon and jumping in the back as it was still moving.. Stars wars was the best movie any of us had ever seen and that day was full of joy and love and happiness for a litte kid who knew nothing about nothing it was tremendously something.

  • Sun risings for life, and Sun sets. Ocean waves crashing and still river waters singing silent poetry while dancing motionlesssly. Fires burning in the cold to keep us warm, rain falling from the heavens to keep us strong. Time teaching us about wisdom and growth, while mistakes teach us humility pace, honor and oath. Good teaching us about bad, wrong teaching us about right. Preparation teaching us to prepare. Life teaching us about death, while making it clear, that we are all just momentarily here!

  • We all should practice our Yoruba language as often as we can. It may or may not be pronounced perfectly. However with time and practice and study. You will find that our Yoruba language is amazing and beautifully designed.

  • As the offspring of an Oba, and the many ancient ancestors that came before him. It is our responsibility to continue our religious and cultural traditions. So let it be, all yee Gods of Africa. We have no power without our true heritage.
