THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN IFA AND OSHUN

Ifa is the God who transmits and interprets the wishes of Olorun to mankind and who prescribes the sacrifices which Eshu carries to him. Oshun the female force of love and

Beauty is their assistant.  In Her role she is considered the wife of Ifa and an Apetibi

(a female worshiper of Ifa).   In a universal sense all women fall under this tittle

Once they have received their personal Ifa.

The chief priest of an Ifa worshiper is called Babalawo, the other male worshipers

Are titled Abokofa.  

This important oracle is public and avalible to all and togather Olorun, Ifa, Eshu, and Oshun

grant and assist humans to achieve the destinies which are assigned each individual

before his ancestral guardian soul is reborn.

At the Yoruba African Village, in order to receive this deity one must be of African descent, and

Able to meet the initiation requirements as set by our religious society.
